Overview

The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is to be the premier, tertiary, teaching and referral health care facility in sub-Saharan Africa. For over sixty years, AKUH has been taking care of families in East Africa. As a private, not-for-profit hospital, the hospital strives to provide access to quality healthcare to all who need it. At AKUH, patients are the first priority. The team of medical professionals, faculty and staff are here to provide families and their loved ones with the highest standards of healthcare, receiving outstanding medical services, first-rate facilities and compassionate care. The main hospital campus is located in the Parklands area of Nairobi. In addition, we have 50 Medical and Diagnostic Centres ​ throughout East Africa providing primary and specialised care as well as various diagnostic tests. AKUH is ISO Certified and has numerous accreditation which include Joint Commission International ​​(JCI) Accreditation, International Quality Assurance 9001:2015 Certification, South African National & Accreditation Service (SANAS) Certification, College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation, Joint Commission International ​​(JCI) Accreditation, Centre of Excellence in Management of Primary Stroke, Joint Commission International ​​(JCI) Accreditation and Centre of Excellence in Management of Heart Attacks.
